Permanency Planning under the Ryan White program supports families impacted by HIV in arranging long-term care for minor children if caregivers are unable to fulfill their role due to illness or death. This includes providing social service counseling or legal counsel for drafting wills or delegating powers of attorney, as well as preparing for custody options such as standby guardianship, joint custody, or adoption.
As people living with HIV (PLHIV) are aging, this may become a larger need, however, like Other Professional Services, it is not actionable and is challenging to operationalize.
