Substance Use (HRSA uses the term “Abuse”) Residential services under the Ryan White program involves residential treatment programs designed to address substance misuse issues among people living with HIV (PLHIV). These programs provide a structured and supportive environment for individuals to receive comprehensive care, including detoxification, counseling, therapy, medication management, and support groups.
This service category has intermittently been identified by providers and community as a need, but due to how challenging and expensive the service is, it is not actionable, especially keeping in mind that it has other payer sources, like insurance.
