Program Overview

Substance Use (HRSA uses the term “Abuse”) Outpatient services provide comprehensive care for individuals struggling with substance misuse, offering counseling, harm reduction strategies, medical support (including medication-assisted treatment (MAT)), and education to help manage substance misuse.

Support services for substance use disorders are frequently covered by insurance and can overlap with mental health services. While providers have identified the need for these services, the community often does not prioritize them, partly because of available alternative funding sources.
