DHR Commentary

Mental health services remain a critical need for people living with HIV (PLHIV) and the general population in the US. Our funded agencies have done an excellent job expanding their focus from primarily one-on-one sessions to include brief/referral services, as well as psychiatric and medication management offerings. This year, one agency ended its contract with DDPHE, freeing up additional funding for other providers to enhance their programs. Our current providers have been diligent in billing insurance first, utilizing Ryan White funds as the payer of last resort.
