Housing services (HS) within the Ryan White program evolved as a critical component of comprehensive HIV care, recognizing that housing stability is fundamental to healthcare access and outcomes, and reduces health disparities. This service category is integral in addressing the diverse needs of people living with HIV (PLHIV), providing essential support such as housing assistance and other supportive services. Ryan White Part B (managed by CDPHE) contributes a larger portion of dedicated funding for these services because the need has grown so much (see the Additional HS Data section for more details).
Housing stability is a critical concern for both PLHIV and the wider US population. While CDPHE/Part B provides significant support, our funding falls short of meeting the full need. In recent years, Housing services have experienced substantial growth in funding and client numbers. Like Emergency Financial Assistance, this category is often one where we reallocate funding, anticipating its high utilization.
